In 2017 and 2018 I primarily worked with liquid watercolor and fluid acrylic paint on paper. The pieces were originally experimental with the purpose of figuring out the material on different substrates. These pieces ended up being expressive abstract work with dramatic movement and impressive color. I painted a lot of these and didn’t sell as much as I made (more supply, less demand, ha). With my recent experimenting with block printing (still doing that, btw) I needed to make room in my flat file and rehashed the abundance of these abstracts on paper. I recently decided to rip them up into smaller, unique pieces and block print and paint birds on them. This is how this piece came to fruition.
